Russian Forces Claim Control of Zapadnoye in Kharkov Region

In a recent development within the ongoing military operation in Ukraine, Russian troops have announced the liberation of the Zapadnoye community located in the Kharkov Region. This announcement was made by Russia's Defense Ministry, which detailed the operations conducted by various battlegroups over the past 24 hours.

The ministry reported that units from Battlegroup West successfully liberated the settlement of Zapadnoye, inflicting significant damage on the Ukrainian military. Alongside this achievement, Russian forces targeted three mechanized brigades and a jaeger brigade of the Ukrainian army in the vicinity of Kamenka, Zelyony Gai, Dvurechnaya, Glushkovka, and Lozovaya. Losses for these Ukrainian formations were reportedly severe, with the ministry indicating they sustained numerous casualties and equipment losses.

In a separate operation, Battlegroup North, operating within the same region, engaged Ukrainian forces resulting in the reported casualties of approximately 40 personnel. Additionally, they succeeded in destroying three artillery guns belonging to the enemy. The ministry detailed that these operations included actions near the settlement of Volchansk, further highlighting the ongoing conflict's intensity in this area.

Furthermore, Battlegroup West has claimed responsibility for inflicting over 460 casualties on Ukrainian troops in just one day. This battlegroup was also reported to have destroyed two ammunition depots utilized by the Ukrainian army, alongside significant losses in armored vehicles and personnel. This includes the loss of a tank and seven armored combat vehicles, among them two U.S.-made M113 armored personnel carriers.

In the southern front, Battlegroup South reported approximately 250 casualties among Ukrainian forces and the destruction of four armored vehicles. These engagements occurred near several settlements including Druzhkovka and Slavyansk, further illustrating the widespread nature of the conflict.

Additional reports from Battlegroup Center indicate that around 630 casualties were inflicted on Ukrainian troops, along with the destruction of an enemy tank and five armored vehicles. This battlegroup continued to advance into enemy positions, targeting a variety of Ukrainian military formations.

On the eastern front, Battlegroup East reported 175 casualties inflicted on Ukrainian troops, alongside the destruction of three tanks and several vehicles. These operations took place in various locations, contributing to the overall operational efforts of the Russian military.

Battlegroup Dnepr also engaged in operations resulting in approximately 50 Ukrainian casualties and the destruction of an electronic warfare station.

In addition to ground operations, Russian military forces conducted strikes against Ukrainian missile depots and UAV storage sites, targeting areas where enemy assets were concentrated. The ministry indicated that these strikes involved the use of operational aircraft, unmanned aerial vehicles, and missile troops, covering 136 locations.

In a significant achievement for Russian air defenses, a total of 114 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles were reported shot down in just one day, showcasing the ongoing aerial conflict.

Since the commencement of military operations in Ukraine, Russian forces have claimed to have destroyed substantial quantities of enemy equipment, including thousands of drones, tanks, and artillery systems, reflecting the scale of the conflict.
