Stars and Rising Stars 2026 - Die schöne Magelone mit Daniel Behle

Münchner Künstlerhaus

Join us for an enchanting evening of classical music as acclaimed tenor Daniel Behle performs the rarely heard song cycle, Die schöne Magelone by Johannes Brahms. This concert is part of the Stars and Rising Stars 2026 festival, featuring five talented students from Wilhelmsgymnasium who will recite the accompanying texts.

Die schöne Magelone is based on a 15th-century Provençal love story about Count Peter and the Neapolitan princess Magelone, who fall in love despite her engagement to another. Their attempts to escape lead to Peter's capture and enslavement.

Modernized by poet Ludwig Tieck in the 19th century, Brahms used this narrative as the foundation for his only song cycle, creating romantic melodies that serve as lyrical portraits. Daniel Behle, celebrated for his versatility across concert, song, and opera, was honored as 'Singer of the Year' at the OPUS Klassik awards for his 2020 album MoZart.

This year marks the tenth anniversary of the Stars and Rising Stars festival, a beloved event that attracts both seasoned audiences and younger music enthusiasts alike.

Don't miss this opportunity to experience a unique concert at an incredible price: EUR10 for those under 28 and EUR35 for attendees over 29.
