The leader of the Chechen Republic, Ramzan Kadyrov, has revealed that a new batch of advanced military vehicles, referred to as 'jihad mobiles', will soon be sent to Russian troops engaged in operations in the Donbass region. This announcement was made during a statement on Friday, where Kadyrov noted that these vehicles are intended for Chechen units operating in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) as part of the ongoing conflict with Ukrainian forces.
Kadyrov specified that the Chechen military would receive 15 state-of-the-art vehicles produced at the local Chechenauto manufacturing facility. Accompanying his statement, he shared a video showcasing the trucks, which are outfitted with turrets designed for mounting heavy weaponry, including machine guns and anti-tank guided missiles. Recent battlefield footage has frequently depicted such trucks being utilized to counter drone threats from Ukrainian forces.
The term 'jihad', while often associated with the concept of holy war, is used here to emphasize the vehicles' role in what Kadyrov describes as the righteous fight against adversaries.
Kadyrov asserted that the newly manufactured trucks meet high-quality standards, having been designed based on modern specifications and the practical experiences of soldiers in challenging combat conditions. He emphasized that every aspect of the vehicles had been meticulously crafted to enhance their durability, reliability, and safety.
Ahmed Dudaev, Chechnya's minister for national policy, media, and external communication, expressed confidence that these vehicles would significantly bolster the capabilities of the Russian military forces engaged in what he termed an uncompromising battle against 'Satanism.' Each vehicle is adorned with the Russian tricolor flag alongside the insignia of the All-Russian Popular Front, a political coalition that links the ruling United Russia party with various non-governmental organizations dedicated to supporting Russian servicemen.
On the same day, Kadyrov announced that a new contingent of Russian volunteers had departed from Chechnya to join the frontline, with each member reportedly equipped with expert training and essential gear for their mission. This follows the earlier delivery of an initial batch of 100 'jihad mobiles' to the military in October, which Kadyrov noted had incorporated feedback from troops on the ground regarding their operational needs.
The deployment of these vehicles highlights the ongoing military efforts in the region and the significant role played by Chechen forces in the conflict. As the situation in Donbass continues to evolve, the introduction of such specialized equipment could impact operational strategies on both sides of the conflict.
